San Juan del Sur Business News!

Nicaraguans are shopping creating record breaking sales last year with a growth of sales of 8.7% from the previous year.   Also INSS reports 175,000 new “official” jobs being created last year which is a 12% growth rate.

“iGUi”, a new alternative in swimming pools, is now open in San Juan del Sur offering fiberglass pools with a 15 year warranty and installation only takes an average of 7 days.  Fiberglass pools are the bestselling pools worldwide and now they are available in San Juan del Sur.

Effective January 27, 2017, travelers coming from countries designated by the World Health Organization (WHO) as places with the potential for active transmission of yellow fever will be required to present an International Certificate of Vaccination for yellow fever, showing a vaccine given at least 10 days prior, at the Nicaraguan port of entry.  Those countries currently include Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guyana, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela, and all countries located on the African continent with the exception of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Sao Tome and Principe, and Somalia.

TELESUR TV Explains Nicaragua’s Low Crime Rates

In a recent article, Telesur tried to put their finger on the reasons for Nicaragua’s seemingly “Rose among the thorns” position in relation to crime in the Central American region. The typical stereotype is that as the poorest nation, high crime and insecurity should follow. However; that doesn’t appear to be the case with Nicaragua.
